Basalt fiber bushing design and fabrication

Nowadays, the basalt fiber bushing design and fabrication technology seems to be not as advanced as fiberglass bushing. Because of the sticky melt basalt and its unique narrow temperature control zone of fiber forming, basalt fiber bushing should be different from the fiberglass bushing such as Rh element percentage in the alloy should be 3-5% higher. The reinforcing bar on the bushing and the cooling system should be designed more strictly against fiberglass. However, most of the basalt fiber bushing on the world is 200-tip. 400-tip is well-applied by Pasia and 800- tip bushing is passed trial but have not been widely used yet. For the scaled economy point, the 1600-hole bushing should be successfully used on basalt fiber manufacturing then the cost of producing basalt fiber should be lower than the regular E-glass. If have 1600-hole bushing, the direct roving of basalt fiber can be produced and widely used on chemical- resistance pipes and tanks. So the bushing design and fabrication development should also be a fundamental issue of basalt fiber industry development.
